Today we booked a tour to a national park in Thailand, which has the tallest mountain in Thailand in it.

We we were picked up in a tour bus from our hostel in the morning, and had about an hour and a half drive to the park. Once we got there our first stop was at the Wachirathan Waterfall, which was really large and impressive. There was a lot of water flowing, and considering this is the dry season, I’d love to see it all full force during the rainy months.

After that, we went to one of the villages of the local tribes that live inside the park. The tribe is called the White Karen tribe, and they have the name because all single women have to wear white every day until they have found a husbands, when the get to dress in full colour. The we’re selling local goods, but rowdy and I were distracted by all the local dogs and a few little puppies that were roaming around.

After that we went to another waterfall, but we couldn’t get close to it and had to view it from a far, so it wasn’t as great as an experience as the first one.

We then moved on to the peak of the mountain and took a walk around up there. It was so refreshingly cold up there, about 15 degrees compared to the 32 back in Chiang Mai.

After a little walk around, we went to the King and Queen Pagodas, dedicated to the royal family of Thailand. There was a great view of the region from here and the grounds themselves were covered in gorgeous flowers.

Our last stop on our tour was at a little roadside market, where they provided us with lunch and we looked around at all of the local goods for sale.
