After our mini-haul, we came back to our hostel to get ready for a night out. We had met some people online who were staying on Khaosan Road, the unofficial backpacker headquarters, and we’re going to meet with them there.

It’s pretty far from where we’re staying, so we had to take the river boat again to get up there. By this time it was dark out, so we sat on the top of the boat enjoying the breeze without the sun beating down on us.

The boat let us off at the last stop, and it was a bit of a walk to Khaosan from there. We knew we were getting close by the amount of tourists around, and were shocked to see the busy area of the street. We hadn’t seen so many other tourists in one spot before, and the huge road had so many bars and stores along it. It’s such a lively place, I was regretting not staying near here in the first place.

We walked around for a bit, but got sucked in to a bar by the magic words “Cocktails, buy one get one free.” We got our first buckets of our trip here, and they did not disappoint at all. Stayed here for a bit in complete awe of our new surroundings, then continued our walk down to the end of the street.

There’s people everywhere and so much going on, from street vendors selling food, merchants selling all types of goods, and people trying to get us in to their bars to drink. One man was trying to get us to come see a ping-pong show, which we definitely are not going to do lol.

Rowdy stopped to grab some Pad Thai and Spring Rolls all for only $4 before we met up with our new friends.

We met them at a bar, and talked with them over more buckets. They’re two friends from Sweden who have been traveling Asia for the last 3 weeks and just got back from Bali. We talked about their experience here, and the guy Bobbi told us about his experiences here on previous trips. We spent the night getting to know them and drinking, before hopping in Tuk Tuk to head back to our hostel.
